This report presents the results of consultations with women’s rights organisations (WRO) and civil society organisations (CSO) in three different countries: Somalia, Afghanistan and Myanmar. They reflect their concerns, needs and recommendations in relation to the women, peace and security (WPS) agenda. These consultations are part of the efforts to ensure that the new UK NAP on WPS is informed by the voices of women and girls living in conflict-affected contexts. Their main asks relate to work on GBV beyond protection and include aspects of prevention and participation; ensure easily accessible long-term, direct and core funding for WROs; enhance the participation of women and girls in social, political and economic spheres; undertake a gender analysis of conflict to address the root causes of conflict and gender inequality; and strengthen UK internal efforts and capacities.
